This is happening because you're using one of the newest Stream Deck XL models which has a new firmware/model number that isn't/wasn't supported in the SF app. (SF-688)
Please try with this preview installer of 5.1.13 (preview 1) which should have support for this new model:

aaaah, man I was going crazy with restarts and USB ports haha. I indeed just got the stream deck and wasn't aware of any firmware that wouldn't be supported. Glad Im not going crazy. Ill try this new install as soon as I am back on my setup. Thanks for looking into it.
