Bounce Factory hardware mix buss bounces
Hi all,
I just installed Bounce Factory. What I want to do with it is print multiple stems and batch export them. The way my sessions are set up is : everything is routed to a console and then into my master chain (vari mu comp and plutec eqs). Then my hardware comp output goes into line inputs 7-8 of my Apollo, I create an audio PRINT track, set the input to line in 7-8, output to my MAIN OUT then hit the input monitoring button and work from here. I've always been able to bounce my mixes in real time without issue, first by printing my mix on the aformentioned PRINT track, in real time obviously. Then once my mix is printed on that audio track, I do my regular processing with inserts on the PRINT TRACK, and then bounce my mix. I have no processing on my master buss, only on my PRINT track.
Is there any way I could automate that by using Bounce Factory ? The real time bounce that I've tried just outputs silence.

Hi @Louis_marin_RENAUD ,
It's definitely possible, you would just have to do one change to your session. When you bounce from the bounce dialog, whether in real time or offline, Pro Tools takes all audio tracks out of input, so that is way the bounce is silent. The process will be different depending on whether you want to keep the printed mix without your other processing or you're ok to move it so that the only printed mix has the other processing as well.
If you're ok only bouncing one mix with all of the processing then that's the easier scenario. The way to do this is to add 1 stereo Aux in your session between Input 7-8 and your Main Out. Then move your processing inserts to the Aux instead of your print track.
Scenario 1:
The detailed version is: Set up a stereo aux who's input is Line In 7-8, and set the output to any stereo bus you aren't using. Then change your print track's input to be the new stereo bus. This way you can still use the input monitor button on your print track to switch between the current mix and whatever is already on the print track (my workflow exactly). Then when setting up a snapshot, set the source to be the new bus that feeds your print track and everything should be good!Session Setup:

Scenario 2:
If you want to have both mixes printed, with and without the extra processing you usually put on the print track, then it's a little more complicated, but will definitely work. In this case you would have an Aux who's input is Line In 7-8, and output to a stereo bus just like last time (this will give you the valid source to print the mix without the extra processing), then route that buss to one stereo audio track that you would use the input button for monitoring. Make a second stereo aux who's input is the output of the first one, put your extra processing plugins on that aux, and route it to a second audio track through a second stereo buss. That second buss would be a second source in the bounce dialog (you can bounce both at the same time. You can also have Bounce Factory place both mixes on playlists on their respective tracks and export copies.

Hey Andrew,
Thank you very much for your detailed reply ! I had indeed though about the extra AUX track but my head didn't seem to get around to that idea for some reason (old habits die hard...), indeed there was an extra step missing. Thank you so much for clearing that out for me, Bounce Factory is a what I've been looking for all of my life, thanks for that also !
