Printing Mixes vs Bouncing to Disk
Hi @Andrew_Scheps! Thanks for making this. I've tried to search the forums and I'm sure this answer is out there and sorry to ask this again but my process is to print mixes and stems and make a new playlist on my print track and then export them. I'm in the box for post prod work but also utilize an analogue chain so to be able to batch print would come in handy for this as well. Can I do this with Bounce Factory or do I have to Bounce to Disk? Appreciate it man.

Hi @Pete_Morse ,
Bounce Factory can definitely do all of the above. Basically anything you can do from the bounce dialog will work. It can also place the bounces on playlists and export copies. If you don't have it already just download the demo and if you have any trouble getting it going post here again and we can figure it out.
Thanks,

Thanks for the reply @Andrew_Scheps,
I might be missing something here but I'm not sure how one prints onto a new track in realtime from the bounce window. I understand that you can bounce to disk and then bounce factory can import the bounced mix to a playlist and then export copies if needed but I want to physically route the mix to a new stereo track and print in real time within the session. Apologies if I'm missing the mark here. I have downloaded Bounce Factory and been playing around with it too. Appreciate your time.

Just un-check the offline button in the Bounce window so it bounces real time and then bounce. You don't bounce directly to the track, you let Bounce Factory do the bounce (identical to the one you'd get recording to a track) and then it will import/export etc. The only caveat is that if you are feeding your bounce track directly from an analog input, you won't be able to set it as a bounce source, so you need to run that input into an Aux Fader (at 0 so it doesn't affect the audio), route the output of the aux to a buss, then select that buss as the source. There are quite a few people bouncing this way.

Let me know if you still have any questions!

Yes that all makes sense to me and in line with how I thought bounce factory operated however, the idea about the track input monitor bus printing to a separate audio track for out of the box use seems obvious but somehow didn't put two and two together. That's a great idea. Thanks Andrew!

All that stuff is only obvious after you see it, let me know how it goes!
