Newb alert: problem with SSL UC1 "follow" command.

I installed Soundflow and added Samuel Henriques': "Open plug-in by name follow track selection" to my Pro Tools deck. It works great on ONE track in the session, but it does not work on any other track (Edit or Mix window)! If i select a channel strip on any track in the session and then select this particular track, the UC1 plugin window opens fine and UC1 follows.. If i select any other track in the session, the UC1 plug-in does not open, so 'track follow' does not work.

I'm obviously doing something wrong but i've repeated this process on every track in the session (about 50) and same thing. But if i select this one track, no matter where i am in the session, it follows perfectly. Also, the stock Pro Tools commands on Soundflow don't seem to work either. I'm on Mohave 10.14.6, could that be the problem? The strange thing is that the UC1 "follow" command does work perfectly on one track in the session, but not on the others. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
