Logic Pro- move track into a pre-existing stack
Anyone managed to accomplish this?
I’ve found when prepping sessions, instead of manually assigning busses to everything, it’s much faster to have summing stacks (with output busses assigned) already created in my template.
I import the audio to new tracks, then individually drag those tracks into the relevant stacks (lead vocals, backgrounds, drums, bass etc) the track automatically gets the same output routing as the stack. Plus I get effectively a VCA for all the tracks in the stack with its output fader.
It would be great to have a button to press instead of manually dragging the tracks.
So, is this possible?! Move selected track to stack/aux 128 or whatever.
Cheers!

bump... ?

Hey Dan, did you happen to figure or find out anything regarding this? I'm looking for a starting point on the same thing and while it seems scripting has been sorted to do this in Pro Tools, I'm not finding any discussions about it for Logic.

I didn’t I’m afraid.
With the new integration I was considering just selecting tracks (that I would ordinarily move into a pre-made track stack) and assigning the outputs to a bus of that stack.
Assuming the track stack fader would have the same functionality and control the volume of everything assigned to that bus…
Not remotely the same but hey!

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, that works functionally, but I'm really all about getting that organization automation. I've got it working for me in Keyboard Maestro, but it's a bit inconsistent for some reason. Was hoping Soundflow might be a better solution but seems Logic support/community around Logic is a bit lacking right now. :( I'm still in the demo phase of both products but right now KM is looking like the better option for me.

The community is lacking yes but SF just released their official Logic integration!

True, but I'm pretty comfortable with keyboard shortcuts and KM, and when I was looking through the official Logic Deck, I honestly didn't see a whole lot that stood out to me that I'd get a lot of use out of. I do love the idea of being able to load plugins from the deck, but I with one-time purchase options out there like KM and Plugsearch, unless Soundflow is able to do the more elaborate automations that I've confirmed possible with my current tools (specifically organizing my imported audio tracks in my template with a single macro), it's just falls short for me. I'll definitely be paying attention to see how the communityr around Logic grows, and if someone figures this out, as well as diving into scripting myself as well to see if I can figure it out.

Dan, I figured it out! It's not the most ideal way of going about it (would be better to be able to hook into aux names, inputs, etc.) but it does work. Basically, it's the Mouse Drag action. I used Mac OS' screengrab tool (command+shift+4) to get the mouse coordinates of where I want Soundflow to click, then where I want it to drag and release. This will require you to be using the same resolution display, same window positioning, and a template that's not changing, but for me these are all consistent (and if I do make changes, I'll have to update the coordinates, or if I use different monitors depending on my location, have different versions based on my screen).
Oh! And when choosing multiple tracks, I select the track furthest down first, then just hit the macro as it's set to hold down shift when clicking, when then simulates grabbing and moving multiple tracks at a time.
EDIT: The one thing I'm just realizing now when this may not work is the fact that the coordinates are going to change depending on how many tracks you have, though. There is the mouse click relative to UI element I was playing with, but couldn't get it to work consistently. Back to the drawing board

I figured out a workaround. After moving the selected track(s), I added the Hide Selected Tracks action. This keeps the template consistent and allows you to move the tracks where you need to without adding any variability/shifting of where your template tracks/auxes are, regardless how much the moved tracks might shift things.
Then Unhide All Tracks action at the very end to show your organized tracks.
I do have one hidden track in my template, so will have to program an automation to rehide that, but overall, this feels like it's going to be a solid workaround.
