HOW? One Soundflow Deck + One Stream Deck Native

Hello. I love using Soundflow on my main Stream Deck for audio specific work in my various DAWs. The already available presets and packages have really helped me to already speed up my work while allowing me ample time to learn more at my own pace. But now I'm stuck with how to move forward with the rest of my setup.

I'm juggling gigs right now and don't really have extra time to program certain things. So I try to find templates wherever possible.

To save myself time and energy: I bought a 2nd stream deck because I wanted to have a dedicated one to run my Atem Mini Pro Iso video switcher PLUS for a few presets that I'd already gotten used to over the past couple years that I wish to keep. I hoped to continue using this second one to use native on Stream Deck. It's already set up and I don't need to invent any new scripts to continue.

Can anyone advise me on the best way for me to accomplish this duality?

    thanks.

          Hi Sky_D,

Unfortunately, the Stream Deck app will always take control of all Stream Deck devices, so we coded SoundFlow to work in the same way. In other words, when using SoundFlow's direct integration you can't also be running the Stream Deck app.

          There are 2 options:

          • Use SoundFlow via the Stream Deck app - this is our old integration that works via our plugin in the Stream Deck app. This usually gives users a much worse experience, hence why we recommend using our direct integration. The problem with this approach is that it's slower (we have to go through the slow plugin API from Elgato), and SoundFlow doesn't have full control over the Stream Deck this way, so there's a lot of things you're used to that won't work in the same way, due to limitations in the Stream Deck plugin API. But it would allow you to continue to use your existing Stream Deck profile. Back when this integration was all we had, about 70% of bug reports were about people not being able to set this up successfully, so this is why we recommend against it, although it's possible to do. See how in this article (scroll down to after the videos):

          • Research (perhaps with the help of our team) if it's possible to build an equivalent of the Atem Mini Pro Iso video switcher in SoundFlow. This way you could keep having access to all the benefits of SoundFlow's direct integration without the hassle.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll look into it as soon as I can come up for air.
