Other Notes
Everything was working fine until the update to 5.3 and the update to the Amazon Fire app to 5.3. I updated the app on the Amazon Fire before updating Soundlfow and it was working but now that both are on the same version they don't connect. I have 3 Amazon Fires and have had no issues thus far on previous versions of the app. Now randomly one of them will connect if I just leave it on the blank screen, but there is no obvious reason why. From reading the forum, I know Amazon Fires are not the most stable choice, but I've had realatively great luck using them and would love to find a soliution. I've tried adjusting wi-fi settings and adata setting on the Amazon Fires as well but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

I would try quitting SF on all of the tablets, restarting SF, then opening up SF on all of the tablets.
This seems to work when my iOS devices aren't connecting. I have a fire HD which seems to work with SF without problems on my setup but I use it mainly for the AVID | Control app- JJoe Pileggi @Joe_Pileggi
Thanks Chris for quick reply. I tried this and reinstalling the app on all the Fires as well but same result. Up until this point I've had total success running two Fires for Soundlfow, one for Avid Control and one for Decibel. Thanks again!

From your logs, it does look like the initial connection is made from your device to the Mac app, so it's definitely weird it doesn't show your deck list.
Can you try navigating to this address on your web browser on the tablet? You should replace 1.2.3.4 with the local IP address of your Mac:
http://1.2.3.4:14288/ready-checkThis should show "OK" if your Fire can see the Mac and establish a connection.

Hi Christian,
Thanks for looking in to this. I navigated to the address on the web browser of the Amazon Fire and did receive an "ok" message, but still not able to see the decks once it connects.

Gotcha, that is good to know. SoundFlow uses persistent websocket connections to facilitate these things. It looks like the Mac side receives the request and answers it (from the log files) but that the Fire doesn't receive it.
Unfortunately, given our current schedule, I can't promise we'll get to updating the Fire app before a little while, but I know this is a big issue. It will require a quite significant rewrite of how SF performs the connections to properly fix this.

Understood. I'll have to find a work around for now, Pro Tools without Soundflow is not an option anymore!
Just a note...when using Soundflow 5.2xxx and the Fire App which I think was v4xxx this was not a problem. It was only when I did the update on both the desktop app and the Fire app to 5.3 that it stopped connecting. But I'm sure so many things changed in v5.3 it's hard to pinpoint. I'll keep an eye out for any updates. Thanks again!

Thanks, Joe. Yea what makes this trickier to troubleshoot is the fact that we can't downgrade the Android version to test for what went wrong where.
But safe to say it's not something you're doing wrong - there's definitely something we need to rework - it's just very, very complex so it'll take me quite some time to understand & fix.- JJoe Pileggi @Joe_Pileggi
Hi Christian,
So inexplicably, a day or two after I started this thread the Amazon Fire's all started connecting again. Nothing on my end changed. I just decided each day to log in and see what happens and they started connecting and I haven't had an issue since. I wish I could provide more insight but like I said nothing changed. Not sure if this is helpful information going forward but I figured I should at least add it to the thread. Thanks again!

Very very odd indeed, but thank you for sharing - happy to hear it got things working for you for now.
