When I launch Sound Flow the menu bar comes up but no interface. My stream deck also only displays the logo.

    System Information

    SoundFlow 5.9.1

    OS: darwin 23.6.0

    ProductName: macOS
    ProductVersion: 14.7.1
    BuildVersion: 23H222

    Steps to Reproduce

    1. When I first started using it the app worked now nothing loads
    2. I've tried different versions.
    3. Pretty sure this happened after the app auto updated
    4. I'm trying to test this out to see if its worth purchasing for my whole dept
    5. I've tried terminal commands as well to reset the app

    Expected Result

I would expect the app to launch and be usable after resetting these parameters.

    Actual Result

    Nothing

    Workaround

    Not yet

    Other Notes

So far seems like its still a bit a ways off from being intuitive.

    1. Hi Steve,

From your log files it looks like you've set up SoundFlow to use our direct integration with Stream Deck (bypassing the Stream Deck app), but we're receiving errors from being able to talk to the Stream Decks. This would happen if you've installed the Stream Deck app after setting up SoundFlow. Using our direct integration, you shouldn't be running the Stream Deck app at the same time - only use one of the two apps.

      You can read more here:
      https://soundflow.org/docs/how-to/stream-deck/setting-up

Be sure to completely uninstall the Stream Deck app, as it's likely to keep starting up every time you boot. Our regular setup should normally take care of this, but if you installed the Stream Deck app after running that setup, you'd be seeing the issues present in the log file right now.

If this is not the case, another possible reason could be that there's not enough power available to drive your Stream Deck(s). See more here for troubleshooting:

My previous answer assumed we were mostly discussing the Stream Deck connectivity, but just in case this is a more widespread problem, could you share more details about exactly what you're seeing here?

Are you connecting from behind a firewall or VPN by any chance?

Sorry I did not see these replies earlier. I have uninstalled streamdeck app and reinstalled Soundflow but it is not taking me thru the setup wizard. It installs and just shows me the toolbar. The streamdeck has been connected the same way for a while just using their software. Is there a possibility using Soundflow with the same device it would have connectivity issues? Also not behind a firewall or VPN.

            Thanks

              @Steve_Perski4, Thanks for the update.

Which setup wizard are you expecting to be taken through here? If you have reset all accessibility settings for SoundFlow and uninstall the application, you should be guided through setting up accessibility permissions when you re-install SoundFlow. However, you will not be shown the same intro tour if you have previously completed it.

For example, in this install video, the steps from 1:21 to 2:00 to set up accessibility permissions should still be completed when you re-install SoundFlow and the app detects that accessibility permissions have been reset. However, the intro tour from 2:15 to 5:15 will not be shown again.

The most crucial step of installation is just ensuring that "SoundFlow" is checked under System Settings > Privacy and Security > Accessibility

If you want to ensure the Stream Deck is setup correctly, you can click the "Set up Stream Deck" button from the menu bar:

If you are still having trouble, can you try taking a screenshot of the SoundFlow menubar app or SoundFlow Editor? You mentioned the app is not loading for you, and I'm curious how these look for you.

To ensure we are on the same page, here's a quick walkthrough of how it should look:

                    Chad,
Once again thanks for taking the time to help. I cannot even get to the editor which is the issue. I've followed all the steps but the only thing that comes up is the toolbar but no editor.

                    1. Chad Wahlbrink @Chad2024-12-08 02:38:47.485Z

Ah, sorry to hear that you are still having a technical issue getting the editor to open.

That certainly sounds like a deeper issue. You mentioned you had tried some of the terminal commands. To be clear, did you follow the steps outlined here to do a full reset of SoundFlow?

@Steve_Perski4, another troubleshooting step that sometimes gives SoundFlow trouble is if you are manually setting the time and date. Can you confirm whether your date and time are set automatically?

                        Hi Steve,

Do you mean that when you click "Open SoundFlow" you don't see the editor come up, but everything else works? This sounds like it could be a monitor layout caching issue. It may be displaying off-screen somewhere. Can you see the SF icon in Cmd+Tab after having clicked "Open SoundFlow"?
