    Streamdeck has stoped shoing my RX8 Deck

    System Information

    SoundFlow 4.2.2

    OS: darwin 18.7.0

    ProductName: Mac OS X
    ProductVersion: 10.14.6
    BuildVersion: 18G1012

    Steps to Reproduce

    1. open RX8
    2. all stream deck keys are blank
    3. yet on the editor in sounflow they are the there
    4. if i hit the show deck tab in SF the streamdeck is blanl
    5. but its showing my ProTools Deck

    Expected Result

    Seeing RX8 Deck

    Actual Result

    Blank

      Hi @Julian_Slater ,

      Have you tried quitting SoundFlow and reopening it? Often this will re-establish a connection with Stream Decks.

      Let me know if that works. :-)

          Indeed I have...restarted my Mac...and for good measure replugged the stream deck.

            The next step is to check that your Deck trigger is assigned correctly.

            Does the trigger assigned to the iZotope RX deck look like this?

                Its almost like the stream deck package has become corrupt somehow. I did have brief go with trying this on my iPad few days ago.....that wouldn't have done it?

                  That shouldn't cause a problem.

                  If the deck is from a package that you have downloaded from the store, and you have not changed it in any way, you could always try uninstalling and reinstalling it.

                      copy that...will try...but...have not noticed the SD is not displaying images on the some buttons for my main PT deck. Like where I have placed an image over say 'due magic spectrum' the image is not there only the text.
                      In fact have noticed my folder inside a buttons not showing correctly

                        This is odd behavior. Have you tried plugging in the stream deck into another USB port? Sometimes Stream Decks do not get enough power from certain ports of your computer. Also, a computer restart may help.

                            I replugged it into the same port I have been using since I have had it yea.....and yes have both restarted Sf and also restarted Mac.
                            I wonder if its anything to do with today I have been switching from WIFI to ethernet a lot. The ethernet connection gives me server access but then I have to switch to wifi for internet stuff......could that have freaked it somehow?

                              I'm not sure if that could cause a problem. Unfortunately, I'll have to wait till @chrscheuer can take a look at the log files to determine what is causing the issue.

                              Till then, maybe try login out and back in to see if that helps.

                                  I'm gonna finish for the day anyway...been called into a meeting. Would love to get this fixed as I was gonna debut this all for a temp mix I start on Saturday.....would love to be able to have this working. Lets pick up tomorrow?

                                    For the time being, you could use the deck on your iPad.

                                        alas I cannot. Warner Bros protocol means I can't work off the server (ethernet) and also have Wifi. so I don't believe I can

                                          I'm sorry to hear that @Julian_Slater.

                                          1. @Julian_Slater - you should be able to use an Ethernet adapter for your iPad to connect it to the same network as the rest of your Ethernet and it should work.

                            Hi @Julian_Slater .

                            From looking at the log, SoundFlow definitely tries to draw the iZotope RX deck in much the same way it tries to draw the Pro Tools Deck onto the device.

                            Depending on how this actually looks (it would help a lot if you can show us a phone recording of clicking around to show the decks while also showing us your Stream Deck - I will suggest a couple of troubleshooting steps.

                            • Quit SoundFlow
                            • Run this in Terminal to clear our download cache:
                            rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/org.soundflow.sfsx/
                            
                            • Restart SoundFlow

                            If this doesn't work, there are a number of other things we can do to try to isolate the issue.

                            1. Another thing worth considering. It looks like you may be using our read-only offline mode. Please note that the icons are hosted in our cloud servers and are currently not downloaded at startup, but only when needed.
                              It's a good idea when you log in in the morning to ensure you can show the different decks so that the icons get downloaded into the cache before going offline :)
                              Sometimes that cache can become corrupt if you go offline right around the time where it would have been downloading the icons for the first time.
                              Once the icons have been downloaded into the cache, they'll stay there across restarts, so this should only really be an issue the first time you get to a new computer on the lot.

                                Hey....so got in this morning, turned on Mac with internet access and still no dice. took a video...where can I send it? I can't send .mov with this portal it seems

                                1. Hi Julian.

                                  Did you follow my instructions above on how to clear your cache? If it's the cache that is the problem, just being online won't make a difference, unless the cache is cleared first.
                                  How big is the mov file? You can send with wetransfer or something like that to support@soundflow.org, but please don't attach large files directly to the email, as I don't think we'll receive it then.

                                        dumb question...but this terminal command....is the '-' before the rf just a regular hyphen? or are the characters with a white bg special in some way?

                                        1. It's a regular hyphen or dash, yes. You should be able to directly copy/paste this line into Terminal :)
                                          No the white bg is just there to confuse people haha ;)

                                          1. All the line does is navigate to your user's home folder, go into the "Library" folder (which is normally hidden) and then into the "Caches" subfolder and from thre into the "org.soundflow.sfsx" subfolder, and then delete that.
                                            Much more difficult to explain vs. just showing that one line of Terminal code, I thought :)
