      Hi, @Eric_Pettersen,

      Thanks for the question.

Can I have you report this via the Help/Issue Workflow? This automatically collects your complete SoundFlow logs and uploads them to an encrypted link so the SoundFlow team can take a closer look.

The first step would be to double-check that permissions are granted for SoundFlow in both System Settings > Privacy & Security > App Management and System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network as described here:
      https://soundflow.org/docs/getting-started/ableton-live#troubleshooting

Then make sure to enable the MIDI Control Surface as described here:
      https://soundflow.org/docs/getting-started/ableton-live#set-up-the-control-surface

If you have followed those steps and you are still having issues, send a fresh report via the Help/Issue Workflow, and we can take a closer look!

          hi @Chad
Yes all app managment and local network setting are correct, my problem is that MIDI remote scripts folder is missing so i cant complete the midi control surface steps. Without that folder i dont know how helpful that report would be. It seems like i just need the remote scripts for ableon in the current version of soundflow I have. I have gathered that that has worked for previous iterations from other users. Can you perhaps source this for me first and then ill see if it works?

            Hi, @Eric_Pettersen,

Here's the latest version of the MIDI Remote Script:
            https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bSwkaZTSJqEDI_IFRTmSMzVEG73ZOvOw/view?usp=sharing

You should be able to follow the same process described here.

            • In Finder, right-click on the version of Ableton you want to use with SoundFlow.
            • Click "Show Package Contents"
            • From there navigate to Contents > App-Resources > MIDI Remote Scripts. - Copy or move the "SoundFlow" folder from the zip file to this MIDI Remote Scripts folder.
            • Re-launch Ableton, and you should be able to set up the MIDI Remote control surface in settings.

If this does not help, please file a new report with the Help/Issue Workflow.

                Hey @Chad !
As i suspected this solved the issue. Im curious why it didnt install the first time around though? Any ideas there?

                1. Chad Wahlbrink @Chad2026-04-20 16:33:31.788Z

                  Thanks for confirming, @Eric_Pettersen!

It's hard to know exactly why this wouldn't have worked for you without having the complete log files from a Help/Issue Workflow report. It could have been a one-off permissions issue or related to the specific version of Ableton. If you want me to take a closer look, you can submit a report. The Help/Issue Workflow uploads logs from the last 4-5 days, so I could probably still get some clues on what was happening that way.

Regardless, I'm glad you are up and running. Let me know if you have any other questions in the Ableton "How To" section of the forum!
