Hi, I've noticed that when I manually open my "New Track" dialog and try to find my Track Presets, pro tools no longer behaves normally. When I click the dropdown and go into the Track Presets subfolder, it no longer allows me to choose the options I want. Initially I thought maybe SF doesn't like my nested folders within my DN folder, however, the Avid folder has nested options and that seems to work.
Just curious if anyone else has experienced this, thanks!
Dana
PS- here's a quick video showing what I mean. The preview below looks empty, but if u click the hyperlink below that, I've posted the vid on my dropbox and it's viewable there.

I had a curious situation recently where my track presets weren’t working and I found there was a random melodyne folder within my presets folder when I checked it out in finder. Dunno how it got there, but when I trashed it, the presets started working in PT again.

Same thing happened to me!
@Dana_Nielsen, I agree with Nathan, try seeing if there is a Melodyne folder in one of the folders inside your "DN" folder. That should fix that.
As far as typical operation, due to how the accessibility menus behave we're limited to only choosing folders that do not have nested folders inside, such as your "FX" or "Instruments" folders. Selecting your "DN" folder directly, for example, wouldn't normally work once the menus go gray (accessibility mode). I ended up just rearranging my presets so they are always at the end of a folder hierarchy.

Thanks, @raphaelsepulveda - just found and trashed the pesky Melodyne folder, AND thanks for the heads up about nested folders once the menus go grey. Gives me another good reason to finally do some housekeeping on my track presets! haha. Thanks again!

Thanks, @Nathan_Judd - really appreciate your help! I indeed just found a mysterious Melodyne folder of my own in my Track Presets folder and trashed it. Thanks!!

This is a known PT/Melodyne bug. If you save a track preset and later instantiate Melodyne, PT will save the Melodyne transfers in the directory where you saved the track preset. This caused some big headaches when I wrote Track Data Utilities.
- NNathan Judd @Nathan_Judd
Does this mean that PT will create a Melodyne folder in "track presets" folder everytime a track is created from a preset which you then use Melodyne on?
Effectively making "track preset" somewhat unusable for creating vocal tracks which will likely get Melodyned at some point?

Only if you’ve save a preset before you instantiate melodyne on a session. If you open a session, instantiate Melodyne before saving a preset you’ll be good.
If a Melodyne folder exists already in a session you’ll be ok.Chris Shaw @Chris_Shaw2022-02-12 15:08:02.544Z
As to your question, the Melodyne folder won’t be part of your preset.
